Terms of Service

Last updated: 22 October 2026

1. The service and the provider

AskCatcher (“the Service”) is provided by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME — placeholder, to be completed before launch], registered in Portugal at [REGISTERED ADDRESS — placeholder], VAT/NIF [NIF — placeholder] (“we”). The Service monitors publicly available posts on supported platforms, ranks them by estimated buying intent, and provides suggested replies that you may choose to post yourself.

2. Acceptable use

  • The Service never posts, replies, or messages on your behalf, and you must not use its output to run automated posting, spam, or bulk unsolicited messaging.
  • You are responsible for complying with each platform's rules (including self-promotion rules) when you post a reply, and for disclosing your affiliation where required.
  • You must not attempt to extract our data sources beyond the digests and dashboard provided, or resell raw platform data obtained through the Service.

3. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

  • Plans: Solo at $19/month (1 product, launch price) and Multi-brand at $49/month (up to 5 products), plus VAT where applicable, billed via Stripe.
  • New subscriptions include a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged before the trial ends, and you can cancel during the trial at no cost via the customer portal.
  • Prices may change; existing subscribers get at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change applies to them.
  • Consumers in the EU: by starting the trial you request immediate performance of the service; statutory withdrawal rights are honoured as required by law. [REFUND POLICY DETAILS — placeholder, confirm with legal counsel]

4. Data sources and availability

The Service currently monitors Hacker News and X via their official APIs. Reddit is not monitored and will only be added if and when a commercial licence is in place. Platform APIs can change or restrict access; we will make reasonable efforts to maintain coverage but do not guarantee the continued availability of any specific source.

5. AI-generated content

Intent scores, explanations, and suggested replies are generated with the help of machine-learning models and may be inaccurate. They are suggestions, not advice. You are solely responsible for anything you post.

6. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability under these terms is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Portuguese or EU law, including for intent or gross negligence, or consumers' statutory rights.

7. Termination

You can cancel at any time from the customer portal; access continues until the end of the paid period. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate section 2, with notice where reasonably possible.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. Venue: the courts of [DISTRICT — placeholder], Portugal, except where consumers are entitled to their local courts. EU consumers may also use the European ODR platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
